Overview of the main screen
The main screen serves as a data selection screen to choose the foods consumed, view the corresponding nutritional values for the selected food, meal, and day. Blood glucose and body weight data is entered on the page. Tools for adding new foods to the database, editing the foods in the database, and copying or moving foods between categories are accessed through interactive buttons. Notes for recording exercise, medication, and other overview notes for the day may be accessed and edited through this page. Daily and monthly reports can be viewed and printed as options available on the menubar.


The Main Screen: On this screen, the patient chooses a date from
the calendar (A), selects a meal for the chosen day (B), chooses a
food category from the menubar (C).  The category will appear (D)
along with the menu choices associated with the chosen category
(E). A particular food is chosen from the food selector (E). The
nutrition facts for the selected food are displayed in the food
nutrition area (F),where the patient can adjust the amount
consumed (G) and see the corresponding nutritional information
for the chosen amount (H). This value is added to the meal (I)
and day (J) nutrition totals. The “Add to Food” button (K) records
the food to the selected meal and displays the item in the meal
summary (M). Foods added to the meal summary may be
edited if necessary to adjust portion settings or deleted from the
meal summary by using the “Edit Selection” button (K). Both daily
weight (N) and blood glucose levels may be recorded (L).  Notes for
the day, exercise, and nutrition can also be accessed through the
buttons (K). The user's name (O) and selected date (P) appears
abovethe meal summary area.
